Antique, Old Sheffield Plate candelabrum from 19th century. The candelabrum can come off to leave a regular tapered candle holder. The candle holder has a tapered stem on a rectangular, stepped base. There is gadrooning where the base and the stem are soldered. The candelabrum arms are fluted and covered at the joint with a floral decor. The bottom is covered with the standard green baise (cloth). Ornate detailing. Comes with removable gadrooned edge candle cups. This piece is still extremely shiny but also has the expected copper peaking through on many of the raised edges and areas of the base which makes Old Sheffield Plate so desirable. Gorgeous statement piece at 19.75" tall and 15.5" wide.
Marks: No stamps or makers marks which is common with Old Sheffield Plate items.
Measurements: approx 19.75" tall with candelabrum, 13" tall without, spans 15 1/2" inches wide, base is 6" wide.
This candelabra is in good antique condition. May show signs of age and use like light surface scratches, tiny dings and residual candle wax. The soldered area is visible, but again is common for OSP. Can hear some tiny pieces of concrete in one of the candelabrum holders when moving it. No obvious damage. Looks much lovelier in person than in photos as I have to focus in on flaws and they are nowhere near as obvious when in a regular environment. Overall this is absolutely gorgeous.
