Gorgeous, antique, English, brass, peacock fireplace fan, made in England. This fireplace screen is made of heavy brass/ bronze. This isn't like the many others available from the early to mid century. Features intricate detailing of filigree cut-out on the fan insides, urn style finial and solid latches to lock the screen shut when not in use. This screen has a gorgeous patina and some beautiful verdigris. I chose not to polish it for that reason. This would make an exquisite addition to your fireplace.
Measurements: approx 27" tall and 7 1/4" wide when closed. 38 1/2" wide when opened.
Marks: Stamped Made In England on each latch.
This fireplace screen is in beautiful antique condition. I didn't polish the screen because it has a gorgeous patina, which most people desire, and lovely verdigris. It wears its age beautifully. If you prefer a shinier, bronze, this can easily be polished. has a few tiny dings n the fan pieces. This is an antique item so may need some lubrication for ease of opening and closing. No obvious damage.
