Gorgeous, French, late 19th century, bronze, peacock fan Louis XV style, fireplace screen. This fireplace screen is made of bronze/ brass. This isn't like the many others available from the early to mid century. Features intricate detailing of filigree cut-out on the fan insides and outside edges, urn style finial and solid latches to lock the screen shut when not in use. This screen has a gorgeous patina and some beautiful verdigris. I chose not to polish it for that reason. This would make an exquisite addition to your fireplace.
Measurements: approx 23 1/2" tall and 7" wide when closed. 34" wide when opened.

This fireplace screen is in beautiful antique condition. I didn't polish the screen because it has a gorgeous patina, which most people desire, and lovely verdigris. It wears its age beautifully. If you prefer a shinier, bronze, this can easily be polished. This is an antique item so may need some lubrication for ease of opening and closing. No obvious damage.
