Antique French Tantalus Napoleon III Burled Wood Hidden Beverage Cabinet Gilt Bronze

Gorgeous, antique, French Napoleon III, tantalus/ liquor cabinet in burled wood. The case opens to reveal gilt bronze, removable caddy with capacity for four decanters and sixteen cordial glasses. This case comes with 4 decanters (only one still has its stopper), 4 gilded rim glasses, 6 sherry glasses and 4 etched cordial/ liqueur glasses. Still has the original key on a tassel that locks and unlocks the case. The tantalus is a darker red wood than what shows in the pictures. Absolutely lovely. In very good used condition with minor imperfections as shown.

Measurements: Tantalus approx 13" wide, 11" tall x 9 1/2" depth. Bottles approx 8 3/8" tall (with stopper), gold rim glasses approx 3 3/4" tall, sherry glasses approx 4" tall, cordial glasses approx 3 3/4" tall.

This tantalus set is in good, antique condition for its age and use. There is small wear to the gold on the rims of the cordials. No chips or cracks in the glassware. Very small part of the top of one of the small wood fasteners on the caddy is broken off, but it is only decorative as the part that screws on is still intact (and unnoticable unless looking for it). Shows the seam on the top where the marquetry meets and some small spots of blushing to the sheen on the very top, and small imperfections and scratches (expected for an item almost 200 years old) but it is all sound and still beautiful. This tantalus is actually more beautiful in person because the camera isn't able to capture the depth of the wood (too many highlights and dust specs in the way). No obvious damage.
