Stunning, antique, silver plate, decorative, open work bowl by Barker Ellis circa 1912. This hefty bowl is very lovely and unique with its open style work, medallions and floral rim. The copper base metal is showing through at the bottom and on the raised areas looking so much like Old Sheffield Plate. Such a gorgeous piece, looks even lovelier in person than in pictures.
Measurements: approx 13 1/4" long x 9 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" tall.
Marks: Silver Plate mark for Barker Ellis
The bowl is in lovely, antique condition. Shows some signs of use like light surface scratches. Some of the base metal showing through as mentioned before--makes it look more beautiful. a few spots at the bottom of the bowl. No obvious damage I can see.
