Antique, silver plate, Aesthetic design with figural handles, serving tray by Barbour Bros circa 1880s. This beautiful tray is rimmed with a paisley and floral design along the rim. The handles feature figural men on each side with flowers in between. The face has leaves, vines and shell etching. Pictures can't seem to capture it so it is even lovelier in person. Antique trays in this condition and size are rare. Would be perfect to go with a tea set, as a serving tray or display. Wonderful and shiny, solid piece.
Measurements: Approx 20 1/2" long handle to handle, 17" without handles, x 13 3/4" wide.
Marks: Barbour Bros Co Quadruple Plate 215 16
The tray is in great antique condition. May show some signs of wear like light scratches, some stubborn tarnish (mainly in face etching--will come out with more polishing), possible tiny dings or bruises. Slight bit of wear to the handles where base metal showing through--more noticeable in pictures than in person. No plating loss noted anywhere else. No obvious damage I can see.
