Lovely, antique, silver plate, tea urn/coffee with lion feet, circa late mid 1800s. The urn is cathedral shaped on a semi-square based stand on ball feet with dramatically curved handles, lion footed frame and spirit burner on the bottom. There is the initial "R" on the front. Holds approx 50 ounces. Please use the zoom feature to look at all the features! This tea urn is in beautiful condition, especially for its age and use, with just a little base copper peaking through on some raised areas. Beautiful piece!
Measurements: approx 15" tall to top of lid, 11 1/4" to top of rim, 9" wide handle to handle, 5 1/2" diameter, approx 8" from back to tip of spout.
Marks: No makers mark.
The urn is in good antique condition especially for its age and use. Some typical signs of age and use like light surface scratches/ marks. No visible wear to the plating other than the copper bleed through on a small area on the rim of the base and a little the monogram (which is typical with engravings), a slight ding at the bottom of the reservoir (not visible unless turning it over). The spigot handle base looks a little gnarled (see pic), but still solid. No obvious damage I can see.
