Antique, Victorian, silver plate (quadruple), insulated water pitcher by Meriden B circa mid 1800s. This pitcher has a lot of details. The theme is Greek Revival. There are two bands that rim the top and bottom of the pitcher that feature Greek style heads. The handle has 3 dimensional flowers. This pitcher is still extremely shiny in spots. It's mostly stubborn tarnish that gives it a darker look, but does have some wear in areas. Inside is enamel layer that is scratched with some staining. This piece is actually much lovelier in person than in pictures. This beautiful piece of history would make a great display. Still very much intact and able to be used.
Measurements: approx 10" tall x 10" wide handle to spout. 5 1/8" diameter
Marks: Meriden B Company Quadruple Plate 243
This pitcher is in good, antique condition for its age and use. Still has most all of it's plating with some wear in some areas, some stubborn tarnish, no majors dings--may have a small bruise on lid (see pic) which isn't very obvious. A professional polish could probably bring this piece nearly back to it's former glory. No obvious damage noted.
