Antique, silver plate, extra large, serving tray circa 1870. This beautiful tray is rimmed with a Greek key design and has ball feet. The face is etched with lovely scrolls and flowers. In the middle is inscribed, "Presented To D. Price By His Friends Dec. 25th, '70". There is wear to the plating (more so near the etching and engraving), but it doesn't detract from the loveliness of this tray. Antique trays in this condition and size are rare. Would be perfect to go with a tea set, as a serving tray or display. It would be a great side/ serving table if set on a folding luggage rack. Wonderful and solid piece.
Measurements: Approx 26" long x 20" wide.
Marks: If there is a makers mark, it is extremely worn and faint, there are numbers 2230 and 26.
The tray is in fair antique condition. May show some signs of wear like scratches, possible tarnish, polish residue. Wear to the plating as mentioned previously. No obvious damage I can see.
